MARCH 2026 / Seasons of the Circle / Print series

 Above is an example of a large-scale woodcut print I created a few years ago depicting various inhabitants of the ecosystem surrounding the area where I live in Athens, Georgia. I am beginning a project creating 13 prints in a similar scale and style to document the changing of the landscape and its inhabitants (both flora and fauna) over the course of a year. I will make 12 woodcut images on 18” x 48” panels cut to resemble chapel windows (the title is a reference to the “Stations of The Cross” that were a big influence on me in my Catholic upbringing) and one additional print to represent the sun/moon in honor of the 13-month 28 day calendar. There will be 3 prints representing each season from the month’s observations from March 2026 - February 2027 with a Gallery Show in Athens in the Spring of 2027 releasing the series.

I will be taking the time with my family to observe the seasons here around our home next to the Tallassee Forest on the West side of Athens, GA. We could really use your help contributing to this project. If you have observations from the area around Athens GA you feel could contribute to these prints I would love to hear/see them. I will update this form monthly and will create the prints the following month (so I will make March’s print in April).
