My son and I had a Red-bellied Woodpecker fly within a few feet of us while wandering in the woods.  As I looked around I saw how its flight is supported by the trees, and how its relationship with these trees is also tied to their inevitable falling.  Which is rising and which is falling I am not sure, I am just happy to have Seen.
